May 2021 in Review

I’m doing Voiceteam this year so things have been mental.

 

 Audio progress:

• I played Snape in a remake of Potter Puppet Pals and also used my Snape voice in this song complaining about iced tea
• I recorded 3 more chapters of Unrestrained. I’m 58% of the way through!
• I recorded the last 65% of Heaven Through a Window in three days. Phew. Thanks to Rindle’s beta listening, I posted it! It’s 8.5 hours. I also recorded commentary for it.
• I needed something beginning with F, so I recorded an old ficlet called “Fuck You”.
• I recorded Kriegspiel, a fascinating story about Ron and Mr Malfoy
• To Potter, On Valentine’s Day, With Gravest Misgivings which is just a few mins long
• Also the trembling of the moment
• I had a blast recording Garden War
• I recorded a post-death McGonagall/Snape, Vigil
• Her Favourite Songs, which was really cringe because I wrote this so long ago. It’s about Blaise Zabini’s mum.
• Aftermath which was from Snarry a Thon
• Lettered, an oldie but a goodie
• I was in a few other podfics as well for fandoms I’m unfamiliar with
• Quick tutorials on visual editing and also did one for punch and roll, which I’m thrilled to say has helped at least two people
• Stayed tuned for a Nine Inch Nails medley.

 

 

Needless to say, I had much fewer writing days than normal – 10. Compared to 30 last month and an average of 21 days for the first three months of the year.

Words progress:

• I wrote and recorded Zip – 289, Snarry (I needed something beginning with Z)
• Pinch hit for Owlery +300
• More notes and ideas for my Snarry Time Travel +750. I think space_wingding has pulled me out of a ditch so I hope to be back on the Snarry train properly in about a month or so
• I translated 18k of The World Ends Over His Shoulder. (There was a translation component to Voiceteam, thankfully). Its 30k and I hope to finish it in the next fortnight.

In other news, Lost and Found posted! I wrote this with space_wingding over the course of Q1 for Snarry-a-Thon and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. 

 

My goal for May was 16,986 and I wrote 19,658. I’m amazed I’m not in the red!
